Dr. Okala Olivier,'s Impact Story

We are honored to #spotlight Dr. Okala Olivier, a medical doctor who completed his medical degree at the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Ex-CUSS of Yaoundé. He is a dynamic doctor, ready to learn and take action when necessary.

Dr. Okala has inspired many young doctors to take up initiatives to improve health by sensitizing the population using social media. He has tailored his sensitization on non-communicable diseases like hypertension and diabetes, providing valuable information on the burden, risk factors, and prevention of these diseases to a diverse group of people.

He said,

“It was difficult for me to associate medical practices and social media until I took part in the first edition of the Young Physicians Annual Conference organized by the Cameroon Young Physicians Network, which changed my mindset completely.”

Today, his profile clearly and accurately reflects these changes and the impact he is already creating. He has taken up leadership programs like the LinkedIn Accelerator Program, which has helped him to be strategic in his advocacy on healthcare, cardiovascular disease management, and community development.

Dr. Okala’s Advice to Young Physicians:

“If this experience with the Cameroon Young Physicians Network was able to change me completely in leadership by training, sharing, and developing opportunities, I believe it will also do so for all those hardworking young physicians who wish to have an impact in healthcare.”
