Leadership that drives real health impact
Designed specifically for busy young professionals and students, HILF runs across all of August 2026, culminating in a virtual Health Impact Leadership Summit where fellows present their projects and graduate as certified Health Impact Fellows.
Program Objectives
By the end of the fellowship, fellows will be ready to lead, innovate, and advocate for healthier communities.
Develop practical leadership skills tailored to health and community contexts.
Understand Cameroon's health systems and identify opportunities for impact.
Master advocacy and policy engagement strategies.
Build entrepreneurial thinking for health innovation and sustainability.
Leverage digital health tools and social media for health communication.
Design and pitch a real-world Health Impact Project.
Grow a professional network of peers, mentors, and health leaders.
Program Structure
A pre-program Orientation & Launch Ceremony welcomes fellows and introduces mentors, followed by 8 core live sessions across four themed weeks.

Capstone & Virtual Graduation Summit
Fellows present their Health Impact Projects and graduate as certified Health Impact Fellows.
Who Can Apply
HILF is competitive — only 20 fellows are selected per cohort. Selection is based on motivation, clarity of purpose, and potential for health impact.
- Cameroonian nationals — resident in Cameroon or in the diaspora.
- Working or training in health-related domains: medicine, nursing, pharmacy, public health, health policy, biomedical sciences, health informatics, and related fields.
- Health enthusiasts and advocates with a demonstrated interest in health leadership — even without formal clinical training.
- Must be between 18 and 40 years old.
Mentorship
Every fellow is paired with a dedicated mentor — a senior health leader, researcher, or systems expert — who meets them weekly to:
- Refine their Health Impact Projects.
- Support career mapping and professional growth.
- Strengthen leadership confidence and connect them with opportunities.
Mentorship continues for 3–6 months post-fellowship, with an extended program for 5 exceptional fellows.

Graduation Criteria
To be certified as a Health Impact Fellow, participants must:
- Attend at least 80% of sessions.
- Actively engage with your assigned mentor throughout the program.
- Submit a Personal Leadership Growth Plan.
- Develop and present a Policy / Advocacy Brief.
- Design and present a Health Impact Project (Capstone).
- Demonstrate commitment to professional ethics and collaborative learning.
