Dr. JEAN JUNIOR EYE NGOA
Meet Dr. JEAN JUNIOR EYE NGOA, a dedicated medical doctor, health leader, and research scholar with over four years of experience. He earned his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Douala. He has overcome personal challenges to lead impactful healthcare initiatives and currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer at Clinique des Cités-Sarl, where he directs programs combatting malaria, HIV, polio, and more.
Dr. Jean serves as the Regional Director of the Afromed Academy of Medical Research and Innovation for Central Africa, actively shaping the future of medical research in Africa. As a member of the World Medical Association, he contributed to the revision and adoption of the Declaration of Helsinki by the WMA during the 2024 General Assembly in Finland, a crucial document for ethical guidelines in medical research.
Dr. Jean is a sedulous leader, and this has led him to take up many roles, such as an Associate Researcher at the Triad Research Foundation (TRF) in Buea, where he has contributed to several scientific publications and held leadership roles in various research initiatives. He is also the site-based coordinator for multiple online courses from the University of Washington, including Leadership and Management in Health (LMIH), Project Management in Health, and Economic Evaluation in Health. His commitment to education earned him an appointment as an eDGH University of Washington Department of Global Health partner with Washington University.
Outside of his medical and research work, Dr. Jean founded the Medical Art Academy in 2021, combining mental health and music therapy to achieve global mental health equity and holistic care. He is also an Alumni of YALI RLC West Africa-Accra Leaders.
